Persian Calendar Converter

Convert between Persian and Gregorian dates.

The Shamsi ⇄ Gregorian converter turns a date from the Persian solar calendar (Shamsi, also called Jalali or Solar Hijri — the calendar used for everyday life by Persian speakers) into the Gregorian calendar, and the other way round. Type 1405/08/01 and you get Friday, 23 October 2026; type 2026-10-23 and you get 1 Aban 1405.

There is nothing to choose: a year below 1700 is read as Shamsi, anything later as Gregorian. Persian digits (۱۴۰۵/۰۸/۰۱) work as well as Latin ones, and a date that does not exist — 30 Esfand in a common year, 31 June — is refused instead of silently converted. The calculation runs in your browser; we checked it day by day, in both directions, against the Persian calendar built into modern browsers for every date from 1900 to 2100.

How to use

  1. Type the date as year/month/day — Shamsi (1405/08/01) or Gregorian (2026-10-23); slashes, dashes and dots all work.
  2. Run it — the direction is picked from the year.
  3. Read the result: the Shamsi date in numbers and with the Persian month name, the Gregorian date, and the weekday.

FAQ

How do I convert a Shamsi date to Gregorian?
Type it as year/month/day, for example 1405/01/01. Because the year is below 1700 it is read as Shamsi, and the answer is Saturday, 21 March 2026.
Are leap years handled?
Yes, in both calendars. 1403 was a Shamsi leap year, so 1403/12/30 exists (20 March 2025), while 1404/12/30 does not and is refused. February 29 is accepted only in Gregorian leap years.
Can I type Persian digits?
Yes. ۱۴۰۵/۰۸/۰۱ and 1405/08/01 give the same result. Day-first orders such as 23.10.2026 are not recognised — always start with the year.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The conversion is plain arithmetic that runs in your browser tab, so it works offline once the page has loaded and needs no account.
