Face Retouch

Smooth, even, natural portraits.

Face Retouch gives a portrait a light, natural clean-up: a more even skin tone, fewer blemishes and less shine, while keeping skin texture and the person's identity. Google's Gemini image model does the work and is explicitly told not to apply a heavy beauty filter.

It is meant for the kind of touch-up a photographer does on a profile or job-application photo, not for reshaping a face, and there are no strength sliders. Because the portrait is regenerated at about one megapixel, check that eyes, teeth and hair still look right, and keep the original.

How to use

  1. Sign in and add a portrait in which the face is clearly visible and reasonably well lit.
  2. Start the job (3 credits); there are no settings to tune.
  3. Compare before and after at full size and download the retouched portrait.

FAQ

Will it change my face?
It is instructed to keep identity and skin texture and only even out tone, blemishes and shine. Generative models can still shift small features, so compare at full size and use the original if anything looks off.
Can I control how strong the retouch is?
No. There is one natural level and no slider. It won't slim a face or change make-up; for a specific change like that, Magic Edit lets you describe it.
Can I use it for a passport or ID photo?
Check the authority's rules first. Many passport and ID photo guidelines do not accept pictures whose appearance has been retouched, so an unedited photo is the safe choice there.
Is my portrait uploaded, and what does it cost?
Yes, it is a cloud tool. The portrait goes encrypted to Google's Gemini API on a paid account, or to a backup provider if it is down, and Abzar does not keep it unless you save the result. Each run is 3 credits, refunded if it fails; you need an account.
