Background Remover cuts the subject out of a photo and gives you a PNG with a transparent background — for a product listing, a profile picture, a presentation or a printed document.
The unusual part is where it runs. The segmentation model is downloaded once and then executes inside your browser, so your photo is never uploaded to anyone. The first run takes longer while the model loads; after that it is quick.
How to use
Add a photo with a clear subject — a person, a product, an object.
Run it; the first time, allow a moment for the model to download.
Download the PNG with its transparent background.
FAQ
Why is the first run slower?
The AI model is downloaded to your browser on first use. It is cached afterwards, so later runs start immediately.
Does my photo get uploaded?
No. The model runs on your own device. This is the meaningful difference from most background removers, which upload your picture to their servers.
Which photos work best?
A clear subject against a reasonably distinct background. Fine hair, glass, and subjects that blend into the background are where every tool of this kind struggles.
Why is the file a PNG?
Transparency needs a format that supports it. JPEG cannot store transparent areas, so it would fill them with white.
